The Skunk Who Destroyed Our Yard

No, we were not recently hit by a tornado. No, there was not a hurricane or a terrible storm.
There was no natural disaster of any kind...
Except for a skunk. And this dog. Oh yes, Lexi finally met the skunk(s) living underneath/behind our shed. Our shed that is a hazard and is falling apart. Our shed that today, was reduced to a pile of rubble. All it took was a man, a hammer, and a spud/pry/breaker bar. Yes, Jeremy named that long, skinny steel bar all those things.
The shed was a tad more resilient than we expected.
But fall she did. So did Jeremy. I warned him that it wasn't safe to try to break it apart by standing on it and bouncing, but he did. And his leg shows the battle wound.
One would think he might have learned a lesson, but no. Up on top he went again...
Until he was able to declare himself "King of the Mountain", or at least king of the shed! Those skunks are going to have to find a new place to live.
Now we just have to figure out a way to get all this rubble out of our yard and to the dump. Remember that Cash for Clunkers deal last summer.... no truck. Thankfully we have good friends and family who are willing to loan us what's necessary to get this stuff out of here.

I saw a butterfly and thought it was neat. Thought we'd end on a nice, pretty, positive note.

We have that same swing set. The swings weren't very comfortable, so we bought some Little Tikes swings to replace them.

Where you able to get the smell out of Lexi? If so, what did you use? I'm always scared Cheyenne will get sprayed by a skunk and would love to know if you found something that worked well!

Nice job documenting the process - Can't wait to see the cleaned up yard and the new shed. This is another one of those times that I wish we lived closer to help. Goodbye skunk!
