What a Beautiful Day

Do you ever have one of those days where it seems like you get a million things done and it was just so much fun doing it? Well, today was one of those days for our family. And Jeremy and I were both pretty bummed when naptime (for Jeremy and Jayce - Jer because he had to work tonight) came around because we were doing so well. Here's hoping that maybe tomorrow can be just as productive!
We all got up and had fun hanging out together before breakfast. I made french toast (something I don't do very often!) and then we got to work! We started out today reorganizing the basement. A couple of weeks ago, the hose from the washing machine to the drain came out and we had a small flood that carried over to the "living" side of the basement. Anyway, putting it all back together was just one of those things that we never got around too. Until this morning. Jayce even assisted Jeremy with putting together some shelves we are now using for storage!
Because it was such a beautiful day, we decided to rake the leaves in our yard. Jayce had so much fun watching Jeremy push the lawnmower around the yard (I totally recommend this way of "raking" leaves!! so easy!) and talking about how "daddy loud!". He even got in on the action. He also had so much fun getting to just be outside. It had been a while since we spent more than just a few minutes outdoors. I'm absolutely loving this "indian summer" fall we are having! By the way, Uncle Kevin and Aunti Rachel - do you recognize this hat? I made him wear it for a little while today and he loved it!
Grayson did his part in helping with the yard work - he just looked cute!! He also took an amazingly long nap outdoors! Way to go buddy! And on a VERY positive note - Grayson slept through the night last night. Granted, before he went to bed he had a very rough night, but he slept from 12:30 to 8:30!! I almost hate to write it on here just in case I jinx it... But I'm so excited about it!!!
Because we were having so much fun outside, I thought it would be fun to end our outdoor work with a picnic. Jayce thought it was so cool to eat his peanut butter and jelly sandwich while watching the cars drive past our house. Grayson did not eat his lunch outdoors. That would have been a little too cold for me!
Jayce was getting exhausted by the end of lunch and decided to start his naptime! Not really, but he did lay down for the second half of lunch.
I'm so looking forward to the rest of this week because of the amazing weather we are supposed to be having - and hopefully all of the time we will be spending outside! Enjoy the nice weather!
